The Neretva River is the largest river in Bosnia & Herzegovina and the most gorgeous. Flowing from the Dinaric Alps it is the largest tributary to the Adriatic Sea. It's cold, turquoise water flows through incredible scenery and while the Upper Neretva's Class III whitewater is a worthy ride, most people choose to raft down it more often for it's stunning surroundings.

While four hydroelectric dams and power plants have negatively impacted the Neretva's ecology, much of its natural beauty has still been preserved. It is a must-do rafting trip if you are traveling in the Balkans.
