Event: Upper Clackamas River Festival 2015

Michael Hughes / Thursday, May 7, 2015

Flowers are blooming, the days are getting longer, and rain clouds are doing their best to produce some precipitation. That means it is spring, with summer not to far off. It also means it is that time of year to load all of your boating gear up and head to the Clackamas River for the 32nd Annual Upper Clackamas Whitewater River Festival on May 16th and 17th.

The weekend brings boaters from all over the Pacific Northwest to get on the river, try new gear, have fun, and defend race titles for another year of bragging rights. This is one of my favorite weekends of the year. You can do an endless amount of laps on the river, hop on to a free shuttle, and try out new gear. Sign up for boat demos with Goodwater Boat Works. My favorite race is the Inflatable Kayak Mass Start. Don't miss the carnage as everyone tries to make gate 3 right in the middle of the big hole at Carter Falls.

The Northwest Rafting Company crew will be there paddling, defending titles, and having a weekend of fun.
