Gear Reviews: Nocs Provisions
There is an endless stream of gear out there to buy. Some of that gear is specialized and only gets on occasion while other stuff can be used everyday. That is where some form of optics come in handy. Binoculars or a monocular can be used on the river, in camp, at your home, or on the go.
I recently received a Nocs Field Tube 10x32 as a gift. I was excited to have a compact monocular really just to look around at the landscape and maybe see some cool wild life from time to time. Well after watching Listers on YouTube and seeing some spectacular birds while traveling in Asia I am a full on birder now.

Now I have a pair of Nocs Field Issue 8x32 binoculars on me whenever I am outside. Here is just a little dive into what makes these optics perfect for river trips, being out side, and sharing with your friend that somehow drops everything.
The Many Uses
From river trips to everyday use a pair of binoculars or a monocular is perfect for bird watching and checking out wildlife. It is pretty spectacular to float past a bear rummaging amongst the berries along the river. However it's even better when you can get a nice crisp close up view.

Field Issue Binoculars have been ideal
Scouting rapids can be a bit tough for many reasons. One being looking at this from far away. If that a stick? Part of a raft? Maybe it's just a shadow? Pull out some binoculars and get a closer look before charging ahead.
You can pack nearly everything on a rafting trip but maybe you don't want to bring your telescope. Even with an entry level pair of binoculars you can get great views of the moon, star clusters or satellites.
Details
Every pair of Nocs (minus the Zoom Tube and Lite View Spotting Scope which are IPX4) is IPX7-rated waterproof. This means they can handle sudden showers, ocean spray, or even a quick dunk. The nitrogen-sealed design prevents internal fogging and keeps dust out. This makes them ready for every environment, from deserts to rivers.

The rugged wave grip is what makes Nocs stand out from other optics. The texture give it a nice feel in the hands while offering protection from drops. The large focus wheel is smooth and makes focusing in easy with one hand. Once you pick up a pair of Nocs you will instantly be able to tell how much thought went into the design.
Conclusion
If you are looking for a decently priced (starting at $99) pair of rugged, waterproof optics Nocs has something for you. I have really enjoyed the Field Issue binoculars for everyday use. The Field Tube is perfect for putting in your pocket and on the go. Go out and get yourself some binoculars or an monocular and enjoy checking out all the things far away.
